The GE Gas Dryer with Steam heats from super clean natural gas and it is by far the best energy efficient clothes dryer I have ever owned. I absolutely love it.

The cost efficiency is on many different levels and adds up to a lot of savings. The steamer miraculously presses out wrinkles in a matter of minutes, so I'm saving time and energy from ironing. Also, the SteamRefresh freshens up your lightly worn clothes, so I'm saving money from not going to the dry cleaners all the time. The gas dryer operates quickly on larger loads of towels and jeans. Plus, natural gas is much less expensive than electricity. It operates gently on delicate garments, and doesn't overheat the fabrics.

That also saves money by extending the life of my clothes. The sensors control the drying cycle, and that conserves more energy. The dryer is very high quality. It's built very well. I love the crisp, clean white finish, too. It looks stunning in real life. Rated 5 out of 5 by jeff909 from The dryer is so quiet.

Don't buy brands from South Korea, buy American. We invented the industry and need to keep it going. Just my opinion, but GE was started by Thomas Edison' and it has a very long history in America. The 1st refrigerator, washing machine etc.

GE is over a century old. It part of the US. Just my opinion. Rated 5 out of 5 by lady from GE has made doing laundry a simple, enjoyable task. If you washed towels, set the dryer setting t. GE has made doing laundry a simple, enjoyable task.

If you washed towels, set the dryer setting to towels. If you washed jeans, set the dryer setting to jeans.

And the list / examples go on and on. What's also amazing is that the matching washer also has the same settings as the dryer. I washed a large load of jeans and put the setting on jeans. On the dryer, I also set the setting to jeans.

It said 41 minutes. Sure enough, at the end of the drying cycle all the jeans were dry.

The dryer cools down for the last few minutes of the drying cycle. The dryer is so large that it easily held 2 of my bed comforters. The dryer is so quiet that I had to touch it to make sure it was running. This machine is a high energy efficient dryer. This is the best dryer I have ever used in my life.

There are a number of different settings such as delicates, jeans, cottons, mixed load, etc. Each has a set time, level of dryness, and heat temperature.

However, you can adjust any of those settings as you want or select your own settings. You can even program cycle settings that you use most often. One of the things I like most is the time display rather than a dial where you have to guess how much time it represents. You can see how much longer its going to run and you can set it for a specific amount of time. I find this very useful when I want to dry things part-way. I just set it for 10 minutes and it stops.

On my old dryer I had to guess and always ended up over-drying things. I also find it to be much quieter than my previous dryer. My only minor complaints: All dryers stick out from the wall a bit because of the venting, but this one has some extra 'bulk' in the back that makes it stick out a little further (see pic). There are 2 metal wires/rods on the inside vent for the lint trap. I cannot determine what purpose they serve, but sometimes the fabric softener sheet gets caught on one so it doesn't tumble with the clothes and can't do its job.

Overall I am very happy with the dryer and definitely recommend it. Rated 4 out of 5 by cl6809 from This is a really good dryer with some great features, although they're features I think most woul. This is a really good dryer with some great features, although they're features I think most would consider to be standard on a lot of the higher end machines nowadays. But addition of the wi-fi is perplexing because it's of limited use; you have to set the program on the dryer and then activated this same program within 24 hours, or else the dryer forgets it.

So, yeah, that's annoying, but let's get down to it: are you really going to leave wet clothes sitting in the dryer for hours on end before activating it remotely? And if you ARE going to do that, then exactly how badly of mildew do you want your clothes to smell? Another rather annoying issue is with the lint screen; it catches lint just fine, but it's just a single screen and not like the deeper, basket-style screen in our S**sung front-loader, which means you really need to be sure you clean it every time, no matter the size of the load. And strangely enough, every dryer sheet gets caught in the frame that surrounds the lint screen pocket, where it stays firmly put until you give it a good tug to break it free. I'm not sure how far along in the cycle this happens, but it sorta negates the benefit of using one of these sheets if they get caught and never tumble through the clothes.

Like I said, annoying.not total deal-breakers, but if I had to do it again I'd likely consider a different machine. Rated 5 out of 5 by typicaldude from This 7.4 cu. High Efficiency (HE) Gas Dryer by GE is packed with features and is Energy Star.

LiveWatch Equipment & Protection A sister company to, LiveWatch has a pleasantly simple equipment offering. They offer security equipment from industry leaders like GE Security and Qolsys. In the past, they had a Walmart-esque variety show of options through SafeMart, but they’ve narrowed it down to two home security systems that you can purchase along with a monthly monitoring plan. The two systems are affordable, but the low rates offered by come with one stipulation: you must be a homeowner with “qualifying credit”.

If you don’t fit that definition, the two plans are far more expensive. Plans are broken into two categories: “plans” and “systems”. Monitoring plans include Mobile Pro, Total Home, and Total Home + Video. Each monitoring plan is backed by one of two possible equipment setups including Plug&Protect Basic or Plug&Protect IQ. Plug & Protect Basic = $99. The first package, Plug&Protect® Basic, uses a cellular Simon XT Alarm Panel from GE Security.

The panel is widely used in the industry and is offered by other top security companies like. It isn’t fancy, but it gets the job done.

In addition to the panel, the package includes a wireless motion sensor, two door window sensors, a keychain remote, two yard signs, and six window stickers. You can also purchase extra products for this package such as a flood sensor, freeze sensor, Simon XT wireless talking bi-directional keypad, and an image sensor. Plug&Protect Basic is a good entry-level equipment package. It works well for those who want home security, but if you want home automation, you’ll need more.

If you buy it and change your mind, you can upgrade to Plus within 90 days of your purchase. Plug&Protect IQ = $99 The second equipment package offered by LiveWatch is the Plug&Protect IQ. The main difference between the Basic package and IQ is the control panel. The IQ package uses the. The IQ panel is a touchscreen, Android-based tablet equipped with Wi-Fi and a cellular chip.

Of course, the package provides home security, but with the Total Home plans, you can also use Z-wave technology to automate your home’s lights, locks, and thermostat. In total, you can connect up to 40 devices for automation and security. The IQ panel has other unique features like a built-in camera that will take and store a picture every time the system is disarmed.

It can also control your entire security system without the use of a mobile app. When you’re home, this is far more convenient than whipping out your phone and inputting a command. You can also purchase extra equipment for the IQ package that isn’t available for the XT package, such as a glass break sensor, GE Crystal smoke detector, vibration detector, carbon monoxide detector, Crystal panic button, and a garage door sensor. Package Basic IQ Price for Homeowners $99 $99 Activation Fee $19.95 $19.95 Control Panel Simon XT 7″ IQ Touchscreen Smart Panel Control Panel OS NA Android Built-in Camera Siren 104db 104db Cellular WiFi Wireless Updates Wireless Door Sensors 2 2 Wireless Motion Sensors 1 1 Yard Sign / Window Stickers Keychain Remote Security Camera TOTAL HOME + VIDEO Only TOTAL HOME + VIDEO Only LiveWatch Monitoring Plans Compared LiveWatch changes their security monitoring plans like most people change underwear – frequently. As mentioned earlier, they have three primary monitoring plans to choose from: Mobile Pro, Total Home, and Total Home + Video. The package pricing was increased by $10 per month several months ago, and then they swapped out the features offered by the entry level plan by adding a fourth package.

Why is this important? This is important because two of their big selling features include shorter contracts and a long cancellation policy. I’m a fan of both, but there’s a catch. If you aren’t locked in with a contract, you aren’t locked into a monthly rate. This means that you may be paying $10 more per month next year. Is a shorter contract period worth it?

• Basic Monitoring = $29.95 per month and includes 24/7 professional monitoring and ASAPer. • Total Home + Video = $49.95 per month and includes everything offered in Total Home plus live video streaming, and it includes a security camera. Redline Anime Download English. Home Automation With the Total Home monthly package, you can control lights, locks, and the temperature in your home through your smartphone or a computer. You can also create rules for your devices, which are made smarter through location-based alerts.

For example, you can ask to receive a text if you leave your house without arming your security system. You can also set rules for your automated devices like “turn on lights when you arrive home” or “turn off thermostat if your carbon monoxide alarm goes off”. All home automation controls are done through the Alarm.com app or, if you have the touchscreen panel, you can control the devices directly from the panel. Smart Home Equipment LiveWatch sells a fairly limited range of smart home products, but they use Z-Wave and can support most Z-Wave devices. From a lighting perspective you have the option of using a Z-Wave Plug-In Florescent Light and Appliance Module ($59) or In-Wall Switches (they have a dimmer version $57.60 and an on-off version $64.95). One product notably missing from their lineup is a smart bulb, which is arguably one of the most convenient devices you can use to automate lights. If you want to automate your door locks, you have two options – the KiwkSet SmartCode Wireless Keypad Deadbolt or the Leverlock version – both sell for $249.

You can also automate small appliances using their smart switch ($59), their outdoor module ($64.95), and the same Z-Wave module mentioned above. Finally, they sell an Advanced Z-Wave Thermostat for $159.95. • Small Appliance, Lock, Temperature, and Limited Light Automation • Smartphone App with Remote Control • Z-Wave Home Automation • Severe Weather Alerts Customer Service & Support In some ways, LiveWatch home security appears to be customer friendly, and they’ve done a lot of things right. First, they’ve held and maintained an A+ rating with the BBB for a long time. Second, they now have a policy that allows you to cancel at any time. And though they still ask for a contract, the contract lengths are 1/3 the industry average. Third, the system is self-installed and wireless; you can move at any time without penalty.

They fail when it comes to being consistent for those they do business with. They’ve merged with a home security company called MONI, formally known as Monitronics, and the merger has caused some growing pains. LiveWatch is usually on their game, but from time-to-time, without warning, they drop the ball. They can be difficult to get in touch with, and they don’t always do what they say they are going to do. If you do some digging through online security reviews, what you will find is that most people are happy with their choice. For the most part, customers get the system, install it, and everything works.

The problems begin if there is an issue and customer service is needed. When this happens, customers agree that getting in touch with them can be a difficult and frustrating experience. Also, recent user reviews are stating that LiveWatch is no longer providing free return shipping, even though customers are returning within the given time-frame. • A+ Rating with the BBB • Cancel Anytime • 12 Month Contracts • Move for Free • Lifetime Warranty • Angie’s List Super Service Award.
