This movie is awful. As a stand alone movie, it's weak and ineffective. Delftship Manual Deutschland. As an adaptation, it's a travesty. What should be a deep, poignant movie that reflects on the nature of good and evil, why we become what we become, whether free will exists and other fascinating themes, becomes a lame action movie full of fan service, bad writing, bad characterization and terrible pacing.

This movie is doomed by a complete misunderstanding of what made the comic great, a bad writer and total lack of respect for its characters (especially Barbara Gordon). Everything great about the comic was done poorly or taken out. And all the additions are awful. A fan of the comic will hate it and a newcomer will just wonder why the hell the comic is considered a masterpiece, if this is the story people raved about for 30 years.

Animation is decent and voice acting is good, so I gave it a 4/10 out of respect for those things. But this one of the worst things ever produced by DC.

Ah yeah, the noncannon graphic novel set in the Nolanverse where ALL of the characters are comepletely out-of-character. I didn't care for it. There's plenty of Harley Quinn in it. If you're a Harley fan, I know of plenty of Harley-heavy comics you might have missed, plus something new this June. If you were asking because you dislike Harley, she & the Joker parted ways 3 years ago, so there's plenty of other solo-Joker graphic novels.

'Batman:Lovers & Madmen' = Gets deep into the Joker's psyche & you discover why he keeps picking fights with a man he can't defeat. 'Batman: Secrets' & 'Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth' are simply excellent, with nightmarish art & Joker's creepiness explodes off the charts, & they're not without their dark humor. If you could use a laugh, try 'Batman: Dead to Rights,' 'Batman Confidential,' & 'Salvation Run,' okay, that last one is Joker vs Lex Luthor, but it's still really funny. The Dead to Rights one is a sequel to Lovers & Madmen, it also goes great back-to-back with 'Joker: Devil's Advocate.' Dead to Rights & Devil's Advocate deal with the whether or not the Joker is faking his insanity.

There are some books that should be read together; first 'Batman: A Death in the Family,' then 'Batman: Under the Hood,' then 'Red Hood: The Lost days.' This has a lot of Joker vs Jason Todd as both a kid & a man. If you read 'The Killing Joke,' you should really follow it up with 'Birds of Prey: Platinum Heights.' This is mostly Joker vs Barbara Gordon. There's some good stuff in 'Batman: No Man's Land.'

My favorite is the excerpts from Azreal: Agent of the Bat. 'Batman RIP' is a personal favorite, but I don't know the names of the graphic novels that come before & after that are tied to the story. I know 'Batman & Son' & 'Batman & Robin (2010-2011)' are two of them. In this one we discover that Joker know's Batman's identity & doesn't give a ****. Folowed by what the Joker would do if his Batman disappeared & another took his place.
